Scene of the last stand of the infamous Easter Rising of 1916. After which many Irish revolutionaries were captured, imprisoned and executed at the Kilmainham Goal also a very interesting place to visit. The prison was in use from 1780 - 1920 and you can discover some very good history of Irish politics and life in 18th century Ireland in this ancient Goal/Jail.
